The foil's insensitivity to angle of attack changes means you don't need to be an expert or have perfect pumping technique. A balance of roll stability and maneuverability gives you confidence when pumping and taking off and the ability to initiate powerful rail-to-rail carves. You can pump harder, lipstalls and banked turns knowing that tip ventilation is a thing of the past. The smaller distance between mast and front wing makes for faster, tighter turns. The wingspan has been kept similar between sizes so the ride feel is the same across the size range. The SF promises a smooth glide at lower speeds. Responsive and maneuverable. PROGRESS FASTER: The SF wings are easy to pump, but still manageable to roll from rail to rail. The surface area distribution across the span is adapted to the rolling ability of the wing - less surface area in the tips helps the foil to roll from side to side with less force. For a foil to roll, it must push the water above it out of the way - less area in the tips requires less rolling moment/force. The moderate anhedral front view combined with a gently curved outline provides a good balance between roll stability, which provides confidence when pumping and launching, and maneuverability to initiate turns with ease.
EFFORTLESS PUMPING: The foil is very forgiving when the angle of attack changes. Because it is so forgiving, you can take a much smaller surf wing than you would expect. This is beneficial if you are trying to perfect your turns and wave riding. You carve with a smaller foil that is more responsive.
COMPOSED GLIDE: The SF can be compared to NORTH's highly efficient HA front wings - only with a much lower speed range. The Sonar HA series has a phenomenal glide at medium to high speed - the same glide has been built into the lower speed SF front wings. The aspect ratio can be considered medium-high, but due to the advanced wing profile, the stall speed is remarkably low. You can give the smooth feeling of gliding at a much lower speed.
RESPONSIVE TURNING: The wing is mounted further back on the fuselage for better turning behavior, so you have to move the mast further forward in the mast track compared to other North Wings. If you mount the front wing closer to the mast, the yaw stability is reduced, making it easier to turn.
