The A700 fuselage and AF72 mast together form a stable, controllable foil system that can be combined with any frontwing so you can learn to wingsurf, SUP, surf and kite with confidence. The forgiving longer hull delays the pitching moment and gives you more time to react. Its precision CNC machined and hydrodynamically optimized shape offers minimal drag, while the aluminum mast provides the best balance between light weight and increased strength for higher loads. The AF72 mast is also ideal for shallower waters and vulnerable surf foilers. Simply choose the Sonar Front Wing that best suits your needs to complete your setup (Sonar Front Wings, Foil Board and mounting hardware for foil and board are sold separately)
Features:
- Sonar AF72 mast: The new, further developed aluminum foil section offers the best balance between low weight and increased strength for higher loads. 30% stiffer than the AK mast, but only 13% heavier, the AF72 mast is ideal for shallower waters and prone surf foiling.
- GeoLock load-bearing connection: North's unique GeoLock locking system with tapered geometry is built to last and provides a more effective load-bearing connection between the mast and hull, making them feel like one piece. The bolts engage with the GeoLock, while load transfer now occurs across the entire cross-section of the mast profile, allowing for more efficient load distribution and longer joint life.
- Easy interception of surface damage: In perfect harmony with each front wing, North's dihedral-shaped carbon preg tail stabilizer provides control and ride comfort, allowing for quick turns and easy interception of surface damage. The positioning of the stabilizer on the top of the fuselage allows for a clean, undisturbed airflow. Pushing through the surface with the stabilizer is not a problem as the front wing sits lower in the water and is still fully submerged, giving you extra time to react and adjust your ride height.
- Sonar Foil Board Adapter: New board adapter for the AF72 masts. FE analysis allows Norths to optimize the structure, increasing strength in the most stressed areas and reducing unnecessary weight in the less stressed areas. A strong geometric locking connection provides better energy transfer and a more direct feel. (Not compatible with AK Mast Series)
- Industry standard bolt pattern 165x90mm: The Sonar Foil System can be mounted to any foil board with a 165x90mm bolt pattern. Foil board and foil board mounting screws are sold separately.
- Hull 700mm: Cruise Control. The compliant 700mm long fuselage improves stability when connected to any wing. Ideal for learning to foil, the longer fuselage delays the pitching moment and gives you more time to react. The precision CNC machined and hydrodynamically optimized shape offers minimal drag and features GeoLock. Fits all sonar masts.

- Comes with Sonar Travel Bag: Store your Sonar quiver safely between sessions in the durable, padded 600D travel bag. It's roomy enough to store the complete Sonar Foil Set, including all three wings and three masts, in their individual sleeves. The bag also has enough depth to attach the board adapter to the mast so you can pack your foil faster. The bag is equipped with straps, clips and inner pockets to secure the contents.
