Mountainboards
Anytime and anywhere kiting with ATB / Mountainboard
Nothing beats kitesurfing on the water. But not everyone lives by the sea and can indulge in the fascination of kiting on the water every weekend .
A meadow, however, can be found almost everywhere and here you as a kite junkie can satisfy your addiction even if you only have a few hours. With the right equipment, kiting on land is also great fun.
Also for kite beginners from the inland, landkiting with the mountainboard or ATB is an ideal possibility to acquire the basic skills without high travel and training costs. With simple and safe trainer kites you can practice kitehandling and boardhandling with the mountainboard on land so well that you can take your exam with very few hours on vacation in the kite school and enjoy the time on the water fully from the first minute.
Ideal is a mountainboard/ATB in combination with landkites from Flysurfer(Peak, Soul) or Ozone(Pure, Explore), which you can also launch and land alone and which will give you pleasure in winter as snowkite for many years after your start in the kitesport .

Wolfenbüttel - Top Landboard Area
For our locals, the meadow at the Exer in Wolfenbüttel is perfect for landkiting with the landboard in south and east winds. There is already a nice community here and with the right wind direction there is always someone who can give you tips.
Mountainboard vs. longboard
A meadow is much better for practicing with the kite than an asphalt surface, where you could use a small trainer kite in combination with a longboard or skateboard. But asphalt areas are usually smaller than meadows and usually so built up that there are no good wind conditions. Compared to a longboard, most mountainboards have wider and stronger axles (trucks) and of course larger off-road 7" -9" tires with tread. A mountainbioard with better axles for heavier riders also has special springs or additional steering rubbers to reinforce the bushings.
If you do plan to practice with a longboard or skateboard, a trainer kite like the Ozone Ignition will suffice.
What is the difference between Mountainboard, Landboard or ATB?
The terms mountainboard, landboard or ATB (All Terrain Board) basically all mean the same type of construction. Mountainboards for downhill riding without a kite are sometimes additionally equipped with a brake.
Protective equipment
The risk of injury with kite and mountainboard on land is much higher than with snowkiting or kitesurfing on the water. Make sure that you always practice with suitable shoes, protectors and helmet.
