North Kiteboarding was founded in 2001. It started with the development of the North Rhino and North Vegas kites. During the sport's surging growth in the mid-2000s, the brand had quality issues. The company was eager to keep inventing new things, neglecting the further development of existing products. in 2008, priorities were finally changed: Production was moved from China to Sri Lanka. Small optimizations, standardization and automation led to the very high quality products we know from North today. With the new standing, the company was able to penetrate larger global markets.
