Madrid skateboards

The name Madrid has been an icon of the skateboard industry ever since someone came up with the idea of putting four wheels under a piece of wood. Jerry Madrid successfully made the move from surfboard to skateboard back in the day, long before the whole thing became hip.

Jerry Madrid started shaping surfboards in his parents' garage in Huntington Beach, California. When the waves were too flat, he rode down the street on his own constructions. Knowing fiberglass well from surfboard construction, he soon brought that technology into his skateboard designs. Berits in the late 1960s Jerry Madrid developed the first skateboards from fiberglass. He developed a wide variety of laminates, shapes and sizes.

Since then, Madrid has become one of the leading skateboard and longboard deck manufacturers in the world.
