No pro rides without protection

Comprehensive protection when longboarding not only includes protectors for knees and elbows, but also helmets and gloves.

The most important thing when longboarding is that you can assess your own ability. It's no good others telling you that you shouldn't try this trick or that descent if you don't realize it yourself. It's like any other sport: you need to know your limits so that you can reach them but not exceed them. If you overestimate yourself, it can have serious consequences. Injuries are almost inevitable.

Always take it nice and slow

For all the nonchalance and cool attitude of longboarding, you must never forget that the sport also involves danger. It doesn't do you or anyone else any good if you want to prove yourself and end up in hospital with a broken leg.

The following applies to beginners in particular: take it slowly and feel your way around the longboard. No master has ever fallen from the sky, so it's no shame if you stumble at the beginning. Protectors: the classics

Classic protective measures, which you may also be familiar with from skateboarding or inline skating, include knee and elbow protectors as well as helmets. Protective gloves for downhillers

Special protective gloves are another important protective measure, although they are only used for downhill riding. These are perfectly adapted to their area of use and won't let you down when you're leaning deep into the bends on a fast downhill and helping to determine the direction with your hands. Reinforcements on the palms and fingertips ensure that your skin is guaranteed not to tear. Without protective gloves, this extreme form of downhill riding would not be possible.

In addition to complete gloves, there are also individual protective elements for fingers and palms that you can attach to your gloves individually. Leading brands for so-called slide gloves are Triple Eight and Loaded.

At this point, it should be emphasized once again: Please only ride downhill trails with your longboard if you have the necessary skills and protect yourself from top to bottom. A fall at very high speeds can be life-threatening without adequate protection.

A little style is allowed

In addition to protective clothing, you will also find a range of cool skater wear in our store that will make you look even better on your longboard.

You should pay particular attention to your shoes. Skater shoes not only look super casual and cool, but are also the perfect link between you and your longboard (if you're not going barefoot for that authentic beach feeling). The profile of skate shoes is designed so that you don't slip, but stand firmly on your deck.

In addition, most models are very flat and ensure that you can move easily in them. This is particularly important for surf-like cruising movements. Of course, longboarding is a sport that is primarily about posing on the board. True to the motto "See and be seen", your outfit can be particularly casual and with a shirt from your favorite manufacturer, you are guaranteed to always be dressed correctly.

When choosing your outfit, however, always remember to protect yourself adequately. A careless moment, a loose dog or the low sun can quickly cause you to lose your balance and fall, even when cruising or carving. A helmet is just as important here as when dancing, trick riding and, of course, downhill riding.
