The Wing to the Hydrofoil Board

The Wing is a wing and looks similar to a windsurfing sail. The handling is intuitive. quick to learn and therefore also offers beginners action & fun on the board. In dangerous situations you can let go quickly, because in contrast to the kite you are not firmly connected to the Foil Wing, but only a safety line ("Leash") is used, which lets the Wing blow out without pressure when you let go of it. The Wing consists of the Fronttube, Middlestrut and the inner Bladdern.

A Wing is held standing on the board with the hand at the right angle into the wind. Through the correct alignment you gain a lot of your own influence and leeway and can thus intercept stronger gusts and effortlessly run upwind. The lower pull of a wing compared to a kite is compensated by the fact that the water resistance is significantly reduced, since you use the wing in conjunction with a foil under the board. Since the Wing is inflated like a kite, it has a small pack size, is easy to transport in the bag and super fast ready for use. It is therefore perfect for all athletes who are on the road a lot.

Getting started with the Wing

Before you go out on the water with the Wing for the first time, you can practice handling the Wing on land on a longboard and then on the water on a SUP. This is a big advantage over kitesurfing or windsurfing and cruising with Wing on land is even really fun.

What other accessories do I need for wingfoiling?

Besides Foil and Board you definitely need a Leash for Wing and Board. It is a matter of taste whether you use straight leashes or coiled leashes. They can be attached to the wrist or ankle or to a belt around the belly.

Especially recommended for beginners are impact protection vest and helmet .

As with all other water sports, you also need a temperature-adapted wetsuit and in the cold season also neoprene boots and if necessary also neoprenegloves.

Make sure your foil comes complete with protective sleeves and a carry bag. Some manufacturers offer complete sets, others require you to order the protective covers and the bag separately. We will be happy to advise you on this.

bag for a fixed foil board is also a useful accessory for your equipment.
