3. shipping to Switzerland

All prices in our online store are displayed in EUR and include German VAT. Only on the way "to checkout", in the course of entering the delivery address or the shipping country: Switzerland, the amounts without German VAT are displayed in the final step: Order overview.

The delivery of an order to Switzerland is simple and straightforward. The import formalities are handled entirely by Swiss Post, a subsidiary of Swiss Post. Any taxes and handling fees that may arise on importation are charged by Swiss Post when the consignment is handed over to the recipient.

All documents required for import into Switzerland are prepared by Brettsport.de and enclosed with each package:
  • Detailed invoice without German value added tax (VAT), also known colloquially as value added tax (VAT).
  • Customs declaration "CN 23"
  • Parcel card "CP 71"

Taxes & handling fees when importing goods into Switzerland

Whether taxes and handling fees are incurred depends on the total amount (invoice amount + shipping costs) of an order.
  • 7.7% Swiss import sales tax (EUSt) is only due/collected if the calculated amount reaches or exceeds the de minimis limit of CHF 5.00. The EUSt is calculated on the total amount (invoice amount + shipping costs) of an order.
  • CHF 18.00 postage tax per parcel. This Swiss Post processing fee only applies if an EU VAT amount (less than CHF 500.00) is due and the import formalities have been handled by Swiss Post. From an EUSt amount of CHF 500.00, the amount for the postal remittance tax increases to CHF 35.00.
  •  An import duty is not levied on Brettsport.de shipments. The free trade agreement between Switzerland and the European Union grants duty-free movement of goods for the items we offer.
  •  Example A: Up to a converted total amount (invoice amount + shipping costs) of CHF 64.87, the de minimis limit is not reached. This means that neither import sales tax (EUSt) nor the postage tax is due.
  • Example B: From a converted total amount (invoice amount + shipping costs) of CHF 64.88, the de minimis threshold is reached. This means that an import sales tax (EUSt) of 7.7% (in this case CHF 5.00) and the postal remittance tax of CHF 18.00 are due.
  • Example C: The increased postal presentation tax is only due from a converted total amount (invoice amount + shipping costs) of CHF 6493.45. This means that an import turnover tax (EUSt) of 7.7% (in this case CHF 500.00) and the postal presentation tax of CHF 35.00 are due.

Returning goods from Switzerland

Returning goods from Switzerland is also simple and straightforward if you observe the following important instructions:
  • Enclose a copy of the invoice from Brettsport.de with your shipment.
  • Enclose a copy of the customs declaration issued by Brettsport.de with your shipment.
  • Mark the customs declaration with the note "Returned goods" and the reason for return, e.g. "Revocation".
  • Only list the items you are actually returning by name on the customs declaration.
