Adaptive wing design

While the industry is trending towards "fully rigid", F-ONE has developed the Adaptive Wing Design, a unique concept that offers the perfect balance between performance and comfort.

It is difficult and uncomfortable to handle a stiff hand wing at the high end, especially without a harness. A wing must be able to absorb this force, just like the mast curve or the opening of the leech in windsurfing or the depower in kitesurfing.

The Adaptive Wing design of the STRIKE V.3 transforms every gust into positive energy and allows perfect control of traction. This new wing is designed to adapt through a controlled deformation that allows the maintenance of a high-performance profile and unparalleled stability throughout the entire range of use.

To achieve this result, F-ONE has worked on the leading edge and modified the shape of the center brace. Its cut is now segmented, allowing for improved control of its curvature and deformations.

Materials

Standard materials such as Dacron and polyester are still perfect for exploring the world of adaptive wing design, and both offer a wide range of design possibilities. Our experience and feedback on our previous designs has allowed us to better analyze the structural and reinforcement requirements of a wing. The STRIKE V.3 becomes even more solid and durable.

Preloaded canopy

From the beginning, F-ONE's wings have had a unique canopy tension that can be compared to that of a hardened windsurfing rig. The wings from F-One are therefore "pre-tensioned" and adaptable. This ideal trailing edge tension when riding guarantees much better performance upwind and in light winds.

Center of traction

Throughout the development process, they have paid great attention to the stability of the center of traction so that the power distribution between both arms is always balanced. The wing is stable and requires hardly any adjustments from the front or back hand, thus offering maximum comfort.

Grips

Right from the start, F-One has opted for small diameter and rectangular shaped grips, with flatter parts that fit snugly into your phalanges. You don't have to hold the grips all the time.

Again, they've opted for softness over rigidity so you always have the perfect angle between the wing and your arms. As the wing is already extremely stable, rigid handles weren't necessary. With the softer, lighter, more comfortable and well thought out handles, you won't hurt or strain yourself or damage the canopy when packing your gear.

Weight - Control - Stability

One of the unsurpassed qualities of the wing is that it pulls you forward, not sideways. The traction of the STRIKE V.3 has been improved especially in strong winds: you only need to push out to feel the power fade and the traction go forward. It offers great navigation comfort against the wind and allows you to push the limits of the high-end with less effort. At the low end, traction is constant and requires no adjustments. Just roll in and the wing works for you.

Performance

With its unrivaled upwind capabilities, the STRIKE V.3 extends your free flight time or helps you win races. Its speed performance also allows you to jump higher and benefit from excellent lift for landings. Its compact design offers more possibilities for tricks and more comfortable navigation with hands positioned lower.

Free ride

Its constant traction, control, light weight and stability make this wing perfect for freeriding, whatever your skill level. Its power and pumping efficiency are its strengths for getting into planing and exploiting the low end.

Extended wind range and its advantages

F-ONE is working hard on the Wings' range of use to guarantee a great planing start and the ability to ride in light winds. At the same time, they want to push every size in the high-end range as far as possible to keep your ride flowing in all conditions.
