The Ozone Subzero V1 is a completely new construction designed purely for snowkite use. Together with Ozone's recent experience and knowledge in foil kiting, it combines the positive characteristics of the legendary Frenzy and Summit to create a powerful all-round open-cell foil kite.
Freeriders will feel at home with the Subzero right from the start. Our design team has reworked the bridle configuration to generate outstanding feedback at the bar. The new sail area and profiles offer indescribable stability in gusty conditions and optimized webbing positions distribute the load evenly across the cloth. These features result in a controlled, consistent and predictable power transfer with crisp, nimble handling.
The Subzero allows adventurers to push the boundaries of snowkiting backcountry. Its direct handling and breathtaking power development, even in light winds, offer incredible potential - but also huge depower in strong winds. The Ozone Subzero was first released under the name "Blizzard". However, there was a problem with the naming rights, so the name was changed. The kite therefore still appears in some reviews and pictures with the name "Blizzard". It is the same kite, only the imprint has been changed.

We recommend also ordering the snowkite compressor bag for the complete version with backpack to protect the kite when packing. This allows you to comfortably pack several kites and food in the rucksack.

INTERNAL RE-RIDE RELEASE SYSTEM
The internal re-ride release system is the result of two years of development and testing by the Ozone Pro team with the aim of building the safest system on the market. The goal was to create a re-ride system that allows you to relaunch the kite immediately after activation without having to unhook any lines. The new system uses an internal line to stall the kite - the kite depowers immediately without twisting in the air and sits back on the ground ready for take-off and waiting for your relaunch.
Another big advantage of the internal re-ride release system of the Ozone snowkites is the landing and safety option. Ozone has inserted a safety loop in the line, which is located around 2 meters above the chicken loop. To land the kite, simply pull the fifth line through the chicken loop up to the safety loop. The kite stalls and falls to the ground without pressure. The kite can now be held on the ground with the safety loop on the fifth line - you can either attach the loop to a carabiner on the ground, to your harness or to one of your bar ends. This makes landing and packing up your kite easy and safe, even in strong winds.
The Ozone team really enjoyed the development and testing phase of the Re-Ride release system last season. It made climbing mountains much safer, easier and faster as the rider can handle it much quicker.
For reverse take-offs and landings in light winds, Ozone has retained the brake handle between the backline leaders.
SUBZERO V1 ULTRALIGHT
The Ozone Subzero V1 is also available in an UltraLight version. This is the same construction, equipped with high quality lightweight materials and without pressure relief valves to reduce weight and pack size to a minimum - ideal for travel and expeditions. The UltraLight version is around 25% lighter and packs down to around half the size of the standard version.
The Ozone Subzero UltraLight offers a significant increase in performance and improved flying characteristics. It inflates faster, launches in less wind, flies faster, stays in the air longer even in gusty winds and is significantly more reactive even in the lightest breeze.
It is the kite of choice for those of you who love exploring the snow world - it could be mountains where you need to use climbing skins for the first few meters of altitude before you can launch the kite and climb further, or a vast wilderness that you want to traverse while keeping your pack weight to a minimum for the days when you need to walk.
The functional backpack is the same construction as the standard version, but also uses lighter materials. To further reduce the weight and pack size, we have used spliced and stitched Edelrid bridle lines without sheathing - this line is not only lighter and thinner, it also reduces the induced drag, resulting in a higher flying speed and tighter turning radii.
The Ultralight kite must be handled with care. It is intended for experienced kiters who know how to keep the kite in the air and are careful when handling it on the ground. The UltraLight kites are only produced on request. Contact us and order early so that Ozone can plan for production and delivery time. The Ozone Subzero V1 UltraLight is available as a kite only option or complete with contact snow control system and lightweight functional mountain backpack. We recommend adding the snowkite compressor bag to either option to keep your kite safe and as compact as possible.

Lieferzeiten bei Ozone Kites
Der Hersteller Ozone legt Wert darauf, dass keine Überproduktion den Markt kaputt macht und so der Preis Deines Kites auch für den späteren Wiederverkauf möglichst stabil bleibt. Die Produktion ist daher immer sehr eng an die aktuelle Nachfrage angelehnt. Seltene Modelle, wir die Hochleister R1 werden ausschließlich im Kundenauftrag produziert. Die Lieferzeit für Ozone Kites, die nicht in Deutschland (bei uns oder Ozone) auf Lager sind, liegt unter normalen Bedingungen bei rund 4-5 Wochen. Unter den aktuellen Corona-Bedingungen kann die Lieferzeit auch 8 Wochen betragen. Bitte bestelle also rechtzeitig!
