The Orbit catapults you quickly upwind, with effortless control, extreme boost and hangtime guaranteed to take your breath away. For 2024, North has smoothed out the shape of the LE and introduced a continuous swept arc that is slightly narrower at the shoulders and wider at the wingtips. It is fast. The wingtips have a more bi-elliptical shape for lower drag and faster turning speed, while a slightly deeper profile in the center provides more lift. Changes to the wingtip have resulted in a completely revised positioning of the bridle and attachment points for the most stable orbit yet.
The kite feels even more reliable and forgiving in overpowering, gusty conditions, but retains its ability to fly forward and catch you in kite loops. Riders of all abilities can experience the best of both worlds without having to worry about your kite's position in the sky. The Orbit responds better than alternative kites in all conditions. In the smaller sizes, North has slightly reduced the aspect ratio and refined the profiles to improve hang time and achieve a faster, tighter turning radius for the doubles and S-loops. In the larger sizes, North has updated the profiles for a livelier and more responsive feel and improved low end performance for heavier riders. They have also reduced the overall weight of the kite with lighter bladders in each size. A lighter weight means your kite will fly faster and sooner as it requires less wind.
