After three years of endless dedication, research and development, KOLD shapes is very proud to present you the POLAR ll. How do you improve the most comfortable freestyle deck there is? First of all, you make sure that the new design is equally comfortable and easy to handle in every situation! That's why KOLD shapes has chosen an outline that cuts smoothly through any kind of swell and guarantees a precise take-off every time.
Secondly, KOLD shapes have ensured that the flat pattern remains just as smooth and forgiving as the first version. However, they have improved the 3D top deck which increases responsiveness and gives the rider additional feedback. In addition, the new 3D design offers a grip groove for your big air game and board flips.
Another major improvement has been made to the channel construction. By deepening the double concave, the new POLAR ll offers additional grip for big turns. In addition, the improved channels allow you to hold the edge longer when you reach new heights!
The POLAR ll is available in two colors and a precisely defined size division. The 128 and 131cm have a 4 cm smaller stance and a slightly softer flex - so every rider will find the perfect match.
Of course, we have not lost sight of environmental compatibility. All our products are produced CO2-neutral under high quality control and fair conditions in Europe. We use more sustainable materials and pack in paper and wood.

The four-time European champion in freestyle kiting has had his own kite brand, KOLD shapes, for several years and tries to produce kiteboards in the most environmentally friendly way possible. The KOLD shapes boards are manufactured in Europe from renewable raw materials and CO2 certificates guarantee climate-neutral production. KOLD shapes boards are manufactured in the most environmentally friendly way, as they are certified by the Ecoboard project. KOLD shapes uses a more sustainable resin and a special core material. There is always room for improvement from a sustainability point of view. To guarantee the highest quality and factory standards, KOLD shapes has decided to manufacture all waveboards in Portugal.
Mario Rodwald's goal with KOLD Shape is to produce the best performing boards while keeping the ecological footprint on our planet as small as possible. Mario Rodwald is convinced that many of Mother Nature's materials, such as flax and organic resins, can enhance the performance of KOLD Shapes products at least as much as chemical products. In addition, KOLD Shapes offsets all CO2-Emissions during production through ARKTIK.
The FLAX FIBRE used in KOLD Shapes kiteboards is a sustainable, cellulose-based composite that is also highly efficient. It not only reduces the CO2 Footprint of the board, it also boasts special mechanical properties compared to carbon or glass fiber. During the development phase of this kiteboard, Mario developed various stringers to support the flex pattern in order to efficiently absorb strong impacts.
The POLAR board is based on a CNC milled Paulownia WOOD CORE. This is the lightest and healthiest option and supports the flex patterns of the board. To minimize the weight of the board, a 3D top construction was also milled.
The DOUBLE CONCAVE offers maximum support during take-off and landing! In addition, it is designed to support the channel construction and provide extra grip when launching into flat spins off a kicker wave - improving early planning!
The FLAX FIBRE stringer runs from tip to tip across the entire deck, minimizing the negative flex of the board. This prevents the stringer from diving into the tip when landing at high speed or when riding with bindings! This is exactly why the POLAR can be so flexible and at the same time offer the performance for extreme landings!
The board's 3D channel and top construction not only minimizes weight, but also provides extremely precise flex. The board is designed to offer super soft landings and maximum comfort at maximum speed!
We have added a lot more to the CONTINUOUS ROCKER than the usual freeride board offerings. Ideal for soft landings and precise take-offs in all conditions. It also increases maneuverability and makes the ride easier while riding.
The GRIP CHANNELS integrated in the DOUBLE CONCAVE and the tips allow you to control the edge at all times - even if you launch the next WOO record completely overpowered! The additional grip improves upwind capabilities and allows you to ride smaller fins to facilitate fast landings.
