Special features

For those who are already familiar with this type of LDP board, we want to highlight a few key features that set this board apart from all other decks of this type produced to date. Firstly, it has been designed around our most classic and readily available RKP cast trucks. The goal is to offer a highly functional but cost effective setup. The deck has a mild camber between the drops and an incredibly strong camber considering the curves needed to make this geometry work. We've also incorporated very mild versions of our Crescent drops into all the camber points (even the downward curve of the de-wedged backend!), making it stronger than boards of the past and allowing us to control the flex of the board. Our concave is smooth, as it should be to make you feel comfortable on any track. But the curves are subtle and strong, and there are no real flat spots anywhere on the board, resulting in a superb board feel.

Design

For LDP riders who want to pump, a classic wedge front and de-wedge tail setup is a must. You want a high degree of turn in the front and a nice solid backend with a low profile to throw your weight off and generate power. On the Supersonic, the built-in angles offer a variety of riding options. Riders will have a blast adjusting this setup and even changing it up for different riding styles.

The front of the Supersonic is mounted with a positive angle of 15 degrees. This means that a Paris 50-degree axle runs at 65 degrees. That's certainly a pretty high starting point, but a high-grade front end with soft bushings pumps very easily. This also results in your LDP longboard being pumped forward more. This is particularly ideal if the P stands for pushing and pumping. If you want to take it a little easier, an axis in the 40-45 degree range is a little more forgiving for all-out pushing speeds, while still achieving a high angle of 55-60 degrees for efficient pumping.

More options come into play at the rear of the Supersonic. There are two mounting options. Mounting is possible on the high, 40-degree angled wedge or on the far rear, 17-degree angled tail. The 17-degree rear is obvious enough. Normally we use a cast axle with a lower angle in this position - a Paris 43°. The wedged 40-degree rear end is actually designed for a FLIPPED rear axle, which has zero or almost zero degrees at the rear. The zero degree rear option is incredibly stable for high speed pushing. It is also effective for top speeds when pumping, although more effort is required than when using the conventional 17-degree rear.

SUPERSONIC 6 PLY
We believe the 6 ply option is ideal for riders under 80 kg. If you are at the top end of the scale, we recommend you choose this board ONLY if you plan to ride mainly with the zero degree tail option and you want it to flex. To use the wide tail option, you probably need to weigh around 70 kg or less.

SUPERSONIC 7 PLY
Our 7 ply option is ideal for medium weight riders between 70 and 95 kg. This deck is effective in both mounting positions for LDP longboard riders in the lower end of this weight range. Up to a weight of approximately 95 kg and above, riders should only get this flex with the zero-degree rear mount option. Keep in mind that riding style plays a big role in flex. Riders who throw their body extremely hard on the board will flex the deck more. Less aggressive riders will probably be able to ride both mounting areas, even if they are over the 85 to 90 kg mark.
