A deck for every descent

The Pantheon Chase Hiller is a real pro model for downhill junkies.

Inspired by the most famous rider in the downhill sector, the Chase is particularly radical, wild and designed for speed.

Special features

There are a few things we've done in the design of the Chaisy that are truly unique. Riders don't necessarily have to recognize these features; the board just has to feel good! But we'll tell you what it is, because it's cool and unique.

First, we widened the front wheelwells and combined the widening with a crescent drop so there's plenty of wheel movement despite the rare 3/8″ micro drop. In addition, we brought the axle mounting area very close to the drop with an angled flush mount with a positive 3 degree angle. This angled flush gives the board some directionality and also uniquely fixes the problem of the deck potentially having a weak spot in this area, as the angled flush actually takes away less ply. We also 3D molded the wheelwells so that they are thinnest towards the edges of the board where the bite would form and have a little more meat near the flush mount. We've seen decks that have broken due to the combination of deep flush and deep, 2-dimensional wheel wells, and this was our answer to that problem. Chase really pushed these boards hard, and they remained stable.

Next, we added a unique mustache rocker design. Since the deck platform is pretty narrow (we fit everything in a 22.75″ wheelbase between two microdrops), there are pretty obvious locations where the feet should go. The separation with a funky camber in the center with microdrops on either side is like putting your feet in bindings. You'll be really locked in on this board!

Something we did on this board that riders may never notice is the way we pull the W concave out of the top of the camber in the center. The rear foot platform drops down out of the center camber, and as this "scoop" drops down, the rear W concave forms by keeping the tip height of the camber consistent. The end result is that the W concave, although clearly shaped in the back of the board, seems to appear out of nowhere. Some riders might just say "cool" and leave it at that. But for riders who push off the line mongo-style (the back foot is the balance foot), this uniformity in the middle is far less uncomfortable than most W-concaves, which can sometimes really throw riders off balance. So there's actually a functional design element here!

The Chaisy's side rails look super wild, but they don't just look cool, they also increase concave where it's useful, and decrease concave where it's useful to have less concave. So the back toe has a functional drop that you can press on, a W concave and also a flatter rail on the toe side, all of which combine to create a platform that really keeps the foot stable and the board under control. The same goes for the front, only the other way around. The front outside of your foot is locked onto the back of a curved drop, the inside of your forefoot has plenty of concave for leverage when turning on the toe side and the concave of the heel drops a little more gently and comfortably so that when you turn and slide on the heel side you have full contact with the board and your foot stays in place.

Finally, the whole back end transitions into a kicktail. Yes, you have a functional, ollieable kicktail on this race-ready board. You can take this board on a trip and ride down a hill, and later on in the evening, you can goof around in the street when you're at a bar or whatever you do when you want to goof around."
