A lot of time and effort was invested in the development of the masts. Masts have 3 main problems to solve: stiffness, speed and ventilation. Ventilation is unacceptable, while the other two have more leeway.
Thanks to the profile of the mast, ventilation is absolutely zero in the most extreme wave riding, while at the same time being able to reach maximum speed, so you can be sure that the mast won't stop you when things get serious.
In terms of stiffness, the new aluminum mast benefits from a new, unique construction. A central web in the mast holds the two flanges that form the profile of the mast for maximum rigidity with minimum weight. The connection of the two flanges at the end of the mast ensures minimal torsion and therefore a very direct response to the rider's inputs.
To ensure a perfectly tight and play-free connection, the aluminum plate is now glued and screwed directly into two axles at the factory, so that there is no longer any play between the mast and the plate.
The new mast features a redesigned taper that maximizes rigidity while keeping the mast as thin as possible where it is needed. In addition, the materials have been reworked and many different layups tested to find the best performing structure. The result is a super direct feel, with no loss of movement between your feet and the foil.
