Ozone WASP (W.A.S.P.) - get excited!

Ozone has just announced the launch of their Wing Surfer the Wasp (W.A.S.P.). Namely, a Wing Assisted Surf/Snow/Skate Propulsion wing. Working closely with Kai Lenny and his background in paragliding, it was a foregone conclusion for Ozone that great foil wings would be developed in this constellation. 

The Ozone WASP is a kite wing that you can use in all elements. It feels comfortable in the water, on land or in the snow.  With the Ozone WASP (W.A.S.P.) you can power anything that rolls, floats or glides.  Use this wing with longboard, mountainboard, skis, snowboard, SUP, windsurf or foilboard.###

Ozone focused on designing the WASP to be easy to fly and handle.  The large sized leading edge creates stability and reduces flex. It also helps develop power at low speeds to get you moving faster.  The enlarged center strut provides a direct angle of attack as flex is minimal, offering a solid and controlled feel.

The Aspect Ratio of the Ozone WASP is low to prevent the tips from touching the water. However, the tips still have a protective layer for safety to avoid damaging the tips if they touch the ground when used on snow or land. 

Multiple power handles on the leading edge and along the strut have been positioned to cover many options and provide maximum control and comfort while riding. The streamlined De-Power Handle at the front of the Leading Edge fully depowers the wing for complete control when carving downwind or carrying the wing.

DEVELOPED WITH OZ-CAD 

The FUTURE is NOW - All Ozone kites and wings are designed and developed using Ozone's own state of the art custom CAD software. Designers are able to work with features specifically tailored to the unique shapes and structures of technical inflatable and foil kites and foil wings. Part of the design team is dedicated to updating the CAD code and adding new modules and features to the program so that the development of Ozone products will continue to progress.

TEIJIN TECHNOFORCE D2 & TEIJIN DACRON 

Teijin is the world's leading supplier of polyester fabrics and sailing materials for water sports. Ozone uses the extra durable Teijin D2 canopy material for all water kites and for the Wings. Teijin D2 is the benchmark for quality with proven superiority in durability and dynamics. Ozone uses the incredibly strong and reliable Teijin Dacron in all L.E.I. kites and wings. Dacron is used for parts that require stiffness and stability - the front tube, struts, wingtips and all stressed areas with additional reinforcement for improved load distribution and durability.

POWER HANDLES 

Multiple handles on the leading edge and strut have been positioned to cover many options and provide maximum control and comfort while riding.

DEPOWER HANDLE

The streamlined De-Power Handle on the front of the Leading Edge fully de-power the Ozone Wing for complete control when carving downwind in swell or carrying the wing.

DIRECT CONNECT STRUT

Ozone's Direct Connect construction improves load distribution between the Leading Edge, Strut and Canopy. This design maintains clean profiles with the optimum canopy tension. The strut is directly connected to the leading edge with internal and external reinforcements.

INTERNAL REINFORCEMENTS 

What matters on the inside too - internal reinforcements for improved strength and durability, such as a double-layer Dacron + Insignia bonded leading edge closure seam with high-strength threads.

WRIST LEASH 

The comfortable wrist leash attaches to you and the leading edge of the Ozone Wing. If you get overwhelmed or lose control, let go of the wing and it will depower on the Ozone Wrist Leash.

DOUBLE STITCHED FOLDING SEAMS 

The seams of the sail roof are sewn, folded and then sewn again to ensure a neat and stable connection of the panels. direct

REINFORCED TRAILING EDGE 

Two-ply Teijin D2 Trailing Edge strip with an internal lightweight Dyneema reinforcement - this reduces canopy wear and helps maintain optimum Trailing Edge tension as intended. The Dyneema line also reduces potential stretch at the Trailing Edge.

LOW PROFILE AERODYNAMIC SCUFF PADS 

Top of the line Leading Edge Bumpers are often large and unnecessary attachments that serve only a cosmetic function. At Ozone,  kites and wings are built for performance and durability with the best materials and components available on the market. In all areas where chafe protection is required, Ozone uses a lightweight, durable material with excellent abrasion resistance, while maintaining a low profile to reduce drag and maintain performance.

UNIQUE BLADDER CONSTRUCTION

Ozones bladders are manufactured in-house using advanced custom welding machines. Two-layer profiles are applied to potential wear points.

ONE-PUMP INFLATION SYSTEM 

The One Pump Inflation System allows for quick and easy start-up. There is also no closure clamp or pump tube on the Ozone Wimgs, as the Wing is emtied complete with front tube and strut for transport. Since there is a much smaller volume to inflate overall, as with a kite, the Ozone Wing is always ready to go in a matter of seconds.

HIGH VOLUME INFLATION AND DEFLATION VALVE 

A high-performance valve allows for quick and easy inflation and deflation. Pumping is a breeze thanks to the high airflow, while the internal seal engages to stop air escaping under pressure. Unscrew the bottom of the valve to deflate and pack away

Colors

A varied color selection is also guaranteed: Acid Teal, Green, White, Yellow. You can, however, leave a comment when ordering if you decide to forego a desired color in favor of faster delivery.

ADVANTAGES OF THE OZONE WASP KITE WING

Fast learning success: The handling of the wing is very fast and very intuitive to learn. In a few hours you know how to handle the Wing.

Safety: Unlike kiting, you are not permanently attached to the foil wing. If something goes wrong, you can simply let go of the boom and the wing will blow out without pressure on the leash.
