Children have a natural urge to move because they want to explore the world. Longboarding can be a great outlet for this endless energy. If there is interest, nothing stands in the way of the family cruising around.

Longboarding together also means spending time together. Especially when you're too busy with work, time with the family is worth its weight in gold. What could be better than a shared hobby where you can teach your offspring cool tricks and casual moves? But that's not all:

Finding the right longboard for children

Parents who are not longboarders themselves often make a mistake: when their child wants a longboard for their birthday or Christmas, they buy a children's skateboard without giving it much thought - simply because they don't know what the difference is.

However, the difference between a skateboard and a longboard is quickly explained: the latter is a little longer and narrower than a skateboard. The same applies to children's longboards, which differ from conventional longboards in the following ways:

• They are smaller/shorter.
• They are lighter.
• They have a smaller wheelbase.
• They are more flexible.
• Some models also have designs tailored to children.

In general, the so-called Mini longboards are the right choice for children. They have all the features that a children's longboard should have and can also be ridden by adults. Another advantage of these models is that they are quite inexpensive compared to large boards. So if the little ones lose interest in longboarding at some point, at least the financial loss is bearable.

Longboarding is the perfect way to satisfy children's natural urge to move. Children learn to coordinate their arms and legs in a playful way and do something for their health. And of course the fun factor is not neglected when longboarding. Mini longboards are perfect for beginners. When the children are more experienced and, above all, older, they can switch to a longer longboard - and cruise around with you.
