The KOLD shapes IKON board is the beginning of a new era in high performance freestyle & freeride. The achievement of this ultra-light carbon board is to combine a very direct feel and explosive pop with a soft flex pattern. Mario Rodwalf is convinced that with the KOLD Shapes IKON he has achieved a level of comfort that has never before been produced in a carbon board, while still maximizing all the positive characteristics of carbon construction.

To further minimize the weight, a core of paulownia and balsa wood was chosen for the construction. The ultra-light feel of the board is perfect for tricks such as dark slides, board offs and for anyone who likes to rotate with almost nothing on their feet! 

The direct feel of the carbon board gives you the most precise pop to launch your highest jumps. The precision of the pop is further enhanced by the double concave and complex channel construction. If you're aiming for your next PIQ record, you also want to be sure that the landings are perfectly soft. KOLD shapes unique flex pattern really guarantees those soft landings you've always dreamed of with previous carbon constructions!

In addition to the forgiving flex, Mario has also opted for a forgiving outline similar to the POLAR range. This outline increases smoothness even in choppy conditions and allows you to always find a perfect take-off.

Mario Rodwald's goal with KOLD shapes is to produce the best performing boards while keeping the ecological footprint on our planet as small as possible. The ICON board is based on a CNC-milled Paulownia WOOD CORE. This is the lightest and healthiest option and supports the flex patterns of the board. To minimize the weight of the board, a 3D top construction was also milled.

The DOUBLE CONCAVE offers maximum support during take-off and landing! In addition, it is designed to support the channel construction and provide extra grip when launching into flat spins off a kicker wave - improving early planning!  

The 3D channel and top construction of the board not only minimizes weight but also provides extremely precise flex. The board is designed to offer super soft landings and maximum comfort at maximum speed!

KOLD shapes has added a lot more CONTINUOUS ROCKER than the usual freeride boards. Ideal for soft landings and precise take-offs in all conditions. It also increases maneuverability and makes riding easier. 

The GRIP CHANNELS integrated in the DOUBLE CONCAVE and the tips allow you to control the edge at all times - even if you want to break the next PIQ record! The additional grip improves upwind capabilities and allows you to ride smaller fins to facilitate fast landings.
